Gujarat polls 2022: 324 candidates file nomination varieties thus far; AAP leads with 70 | Information

Ahmedabad: A complete of 324 candidates have filed nominations for the two-phase polls to the 182-member Gujarat Meeting because the course of started on November 5, an official mentioned on Saturday. Whereas 316 candidates have filed nomination varieties for the primary part of polling on December 1, eight for the second part on December 5, a launch from the state’s chief electoral officer mentioned. Votes shall be counted on December 8.

As per data made obtainable by ballot authorities, 70 Aam Aadmi Get together (AAP) candidates have filed nominations, adopted by 52 from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Get together (BJP), 48 from the opposition Congress, 21 from the Bahujan Samaj Get together (BSP), 9 from the Bharatiya Tribal Get together (BTP) and a number of other Independents. AAP candidates have filed 14 nominations for seats in Surat district, 12 in Rajkot and eight in Kutch, it mentioned.

Nominations have been filed in numerous districts corresponding to Kutch, Surendranagar, Morbi, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Botad, Narmada, Bhavnagar, Tapi, Navsari, Surat, Dang, and Valsad as nicely.

It mentioned nominations for the second part have been filed in Mehsana, Aravalli and Ahmedabad. As per the state’s ballot schedule, the final date for submitting nominations for the primary part is November 14, with nominations being scrutinised a day later and the final date of withdrawal being November 17.

For the second part, the final date for submitting nominations is November 17. The nominations shall be scrutinised on November 18, and the final date for withdrawal is November 21. The BJP has dominated the state for 27 years, with its contenders being the Congress and new entrant AAP.
