A major relief for Madhya Pradesh’s young medical professionals: the state has approved stipend hikes for junior doctors in public medical institutions, as announced by Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla. From April 1, 2025, adjustments reflecting a 2.94 CPI increase will take effect, fairly rewarding their tireless service.
Shukla, heading Health and Medical Education, lauded these doctors for their frontline roles—training intensively while ensuring seamless patient treatment. Their dedication fortifies the state’s healthcare framework against everyday challenges.
Specific increments include: PG Year 1 to Rs 77,662 (was Rs 75,444); Year 2 to Rs 80,050 (Rs 77,764); Year 3 to Rs 82,441 (Rs 80,086). Intern stipends rise to Rs 14,337 from Rs 13,928; super specialty uniform at Rs 82,441.
Senior residents gain to Rs 90,803 (from Rs 88,210), junior residents at Rs 63,324. These updates prioritize doctor welfare amid rising living costs.
Backed by Junior Doctors Association protests invoking a 2021 directive, resolution came via Shukla’s March 10 Jabalpur talks, averting prolonged disruptions.
This endorsement reflects strategic investment in human resources for health. Madhya Pradesh positions itself as a nurturing ground for medical excellence, promising improved services and a motivated workforce for tomorrow’s needs.
