In a significant development, the Telangana High Court has temporarily halted an order that sought to quash the selection of 1,032 candidates for TGPSC Group-II Services. The interim stay, issued by a division bench, offers a reprieve to individuals appointed in October 2019 following recruitment initiated years prior. The bench, headed by the Chief Justice, recognized the potential unfairness of nullifying appointments made four years ago, particularly as the entire group of successful candidates was not part of the initial legal challenge. The appeal, filed by two serving deputy tehsildars, argued that the TGPSC had adhered to technical guidelines during recruitment. Furthermore, the appellants pointed out that the single judge’s order failed to consider vital previous rulings that could have influenced the decision. The court has now requested responses from all involved parties and will delve deeper into the case’s merits in approximately six weeks. This ruling comes amid allegations of OMR sheet manipulation, which led to the original writ petition seeking to invalidate appointments based on suspected irregularities.
