The Rajasthan High Court has nullified the 2021 Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment exam due to a probe into widespread cheating. The ruling addresses persistent concerns from students who contested the examination’s integrity. The court’s prior actions included pausing the passing-out parade and the appointment of trainee sub-inspectors. The SI recruitment sought to fill 859 posts. The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan investigated the case, revealing the use of proxy candidates and other fraudulent activities. More than 150 individuals were apprehended in connection with the cheating. The court’s decision cited evidence of paper leaks on platforms such as WhatsApp and social media, along with the involvement of sophisticated cheating methods. The court considered it unjust to proceed with the recruitment. Legal professionals, including Advocate OP Solanki, hailed the decision as historic, emphasizing the public’s evolving understanding of judicial fairness. The verdict, delivered after a four-year wait, has been celebrated.
