Patna’s vicinity saw bold police interventions on Monday as Vaishali district teams raided two hotels, pulling three women out of a exploitative trap while cuffing three adults and holding a minor. This crackdown reveals persistent challenges in curbing flesh trade disguised as legitimate business.
Abhishek Vaishali Hotel and The Royal Cafe & Restaurant, nestled in Kharouna Pokhar near Vaishali thana, were the epicenters of alleged abuse for profit by proprietors. Intelligence led SDPO Sadar-02 (Lalgunj) to deploy a specialized squad with SHO, circle officer, and women officers, ensuring a humane and effective rescue.
Caught red-handed were locals Neeraj Kumar and Mukesh Sahni, plus Saran-based Mahesh Mahto. Haul from the sites: five cellphones, Rs 2,040, three vouchers, one register, and a clock. Charges are pressed at Vaishali police station, signaling rigorous pursuit of justice.
Echoing the urgency, Rohtas police hit Bikramganj’s infamous red zone in Dhangai, detaining six amid performances by dancing women. Four adults tied to social event orchestras were among them. As per SDPO Sindhu Shekhar Singh, such drives are integral to policing, with sustained monitoring to safeguard society from illicit activities.
