Starting October 1st, those who have linked their Aadhaar with IRCTC and have updated their mobile details will be eligible to book tickets during the first 15 minutes of the booking window. This new rule follows the Indian Railways’ earlier mandate for Aadhaar verification for Tatkal ticket bookings, which began on July 1, 2025. To book Tatkal tickets via the IRCTC website or mobile app, passengers must complete Aadhaar authentication. Additionally, the policy imposes restrictions on authorized railway ticketing agents for Tatkal bookings. They are prohibited from booking tickets during the first 30 minutes of the booking period; specifically, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am for AC classes and from 11:00 am to 11:30 am for non-AC classes.
