Actor and Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay held a meeting with the families of the victims from the tragic Karur stampede. The poignant encounter occurred on Monday at a Mahabalipuram hotel in Tamil Nadu. Families of the 41 individuals who perished in the September 27th stampede during a TVK event were reportedly brought to Chennai for this meeting. TVK had previously provided financial assistance of Rs. 20 lakh to the bereaved families. Vijay conveyed his profound sympathy, remarking, “We will stand with you in every possible way, offering comfort and support. With the grace of God, we will overcome this painful time together.” This development follows a Supreme Court directive for a CBI investigation into the Karur stampede, with IPS officer Praveen Kumar spearheading the probe. The incident has also drawn political commentary, with some leaders attributing blame to the TVK chief, citing delays in his arrival at the event as a contributing factor.
