The father of Nganthoy Sharma Kongbralatpam, a cabin crew member who died in the Air India flight AI-171 crash near Ahmedabad airport, has voiced his grievances regarding the response from Air India and the state government. The flight, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, crashed shortly after takeoff on a flight to London. He revealed that he received no official communication regarding the accident and relied on social media for updates. He criticized the lack of support from Air India and the government, expressing his despair and requesting assistance for the affected families. The accident claimed the lives of 241 people out of the 242 onboard. The Tata Group has offered financial assistance to the affected families. Preliminary reports suggest the aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff, with black smoke observed rising from the accident site. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held a review meeting concerning the incident.
