The Amarnath Yatra continues with pilgrims showing immense courage and faith following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam’s Baisaran Valley. Pilgrims are determined to complete their journey, emphasizing that their faith in Baba Barfani is unshakeable. The traditional Pahalgam route remains popular. This year’s Yatra is expected to see a substantial increase in participation. The initial group of pilgrims, numbering 5,892, successfully reached the base camps in Pahalgam and Baltal. The convoy consisted of 310 vehicles. A warm reception was given by locals including Muslims, police, and civil society members. Security has been bolstered with extensive measures, including AI-driven facial recognition, RFID tracking, and a large presence of security forces to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.
