In Delhi, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, met with the officers who were instrumental in the recent anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh. He praised their historic success and reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism. These operations, conducted by security forces under the Home Minister’s guidance, involved the Chhattisgarh Police, including DRG units. A major operation took place in the Abujhmad area from May 18 to 21. A significant encounter on May 21 resulted in the elimination of 27 Naxals, including the CPI (Maoist) General Secretary, Basavaraju alias Gaganna. Several key officers were honored during the meeting, which was also attended by prominent political figures and senior officials.
