Delhi Police delivered justice in record time, dismantling a robbery plot in Sagarpur through sheer determination and cutting-edge investigation. Two crafty criminals fell into the net of the Anti-Snatching Cell and Sagarpur station team.
The arrested, Sumit Nagpal (34, Dashrathpuri resident) and Gaurav alias Totla (31, Vijay Enclave, Dabri), struck on the fateful night of January 18 around 10:15 PM. M. Kumar, en route home on his two-wheeler, was waylaid by the duo near Dashrathpuri drain.
They blocked his bike, assaulted him lightly, looted Rs 680, and intimidated him into transferring Rs 3,200 via PhonePe, then sped away.
A rapid FIR at Sagarpur sparked a joint operation led by Anti-Snatching Cell In-Charge Inspector Hari Singh, with ACP Anil Kumar providing strategic oversight. The squad featured PSI Mukesh, Head Constables Sumer and Arun, and Constables Nitin and Anil.
Over 50 CCTV recordings from a 3-km perimeter were scrutinized, merged with technical intel, secret sources, and manual sweeps to identify and locate the fugitives.
Both owned up during grilling, citing drug habits and greed as drivers. Police reclaimed the pilfered cash.
Such operations boost confidence in Delhi’s policing amid rising street threats. The force’s blend of human intelligence and tech is a game-changer, promising safer streets ahead.
