A daring midnight rescue in Bengaluru led to the capture of a Rapido driver charged with molesting a young software engineer, igniting debates on gig worker accountability. The sequence began when the 30-year-old professional from a Manyata Tech Park giant summoned a ride to her home in HSR Layout. Driver Prakash M allegedly exploited the route to proposition her aggressively, culminating in an attempted grope near a service road. Her piercing screams mobilized night-shift workers from adjacent factories, who subdued the driver. Domlur police, arriving within minutes, took the suspect into custody following a formal complaint. The company pledged compensation to the victim and promised to conduct fleet-wide safety audits to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
