A pregnant Bangladeshi woman who was arrested for residing illegally in India has escaped from J.J. Hospital in Mumbai. The woman, who was admitted for medical treatment, fled on August 14th, pushing past a police constable. The search for her is ongoing. The woman, identified as Rubina Irshad Sheikh, was arrested in Navi Mumbai on August 5th for living in India using a forged birth certificate. She was subsequently held in Byculla Women’s Jail before being brought to the hospital for treatment of a skin condition.
