Thursday brought Nitin Nabin, BJP’s national chief, to Patna’s spiritual hubs – Kali Mata, Mahavir, and Hanuman temples – for solemn prayers prior to filing papers as the party’s Rajya Sabha pick from Bihar.
In media interactions post-rituals, Nabin reflected deeply: ‘God walks with us always. This temple’s significance in my life is profound. A milestone today, aligned with BJP’s strategic path.’
He recounted, ‘Darshan from Maa Kali, Lord Shiva, Hanuman at the temples. Seeking divine vigor to match past zeal in future endeavors.’
On Bihar’s pull, he stated firmly, ‘Irreplaceable in my narrative, my region too. One rises by embracing origins; robust roots yield towering growth.’
‘This is my earth to till perpetually,’ Nabin asserted. ‘My essence is tied to it, enduring through all life’s stations.’
The backdrop: March 16 elections for 37 vacancies in 10 states (Maharashtra to Telangana), terms ending April 2026. EC’s February 18 calendar sets today as last nomination day, March 6 for checks.
Party nominations: Bihar – Nabin, Sivesh Kumar; Assam – Teresh Gowala, Jogen Mohan; Chhattisgarh – Lakshmi Verma; Haryana – Sanjay Bhatia; Odisha – Manmohan Samal, Sujit Kumar; West Bengal – Rahul Sinha.
This sacred start to Nabin’s campaign weaves tradition into BJP’s electoral narrative, bolstering its presence in the Rajya Sabha race.
