The Bihar government has initiated a comprehensive cyber audit in the face of escalating cyberattacks targeting government systems and installations. The Economic Offence Unit (EOU) has been appointed as the central authority to manage cyber security throughout the state. The audit will encompass all government departments, assessing their online platforms and services for security vulnerabilities. The aim is to rectify any identified discrepancies and strengthen the overall cyber hygiene of government operations. Collaboration with C-DAC, I4C, and other agencies is underway to develop a strategic approach to the audit. This proactive measure follows incidents of cyberattacks affecting crucial services, including those at AIIMS Patna and other public utilities. The ADG of EOU, Nayyar Hasnain Khan, confirmed that the audit is a top priority, with strict action planned against cybercriminals.
