In a significant development push, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Gaya, Bihar, on August 22nd to oversee the inauguration and commencement of several key infrastructure projects, collectively valued at Rs 13,000 crore. The visit will include the inauguration of the state’s first six-lane bridge over the Ganges, the Aunta-Simaria bridge, which is designed to enhance connectivity and reduce travel times. Besides the bridge, the Prime Minister will inaugurate projects like the Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama section of NH 31, the Buxar Thermal Power Plant, and the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre. He will also lay foundation stones for various projects, including STP and sewerage networks in Daudnagar, Aurangabad, Barahiya (Lakhisarai), and Jamui, as well as a sewerage treatment plant and water supply scheme in Aurangabad, Bodhgaya, and Jehanabad. Furthermore, the Amrit Bharat train and a dedicated Buddhist Circuit Train will be flagged off during the event.
