Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Purnia in Bihar, a state gearing up for elections, to launch development projects totaling ₹36,000 crore. The visit includes the inauguration of a new airport terminal, addressing long-standing needs for better air connectivity in the area. A significant event will be the launch of the National Makhana Board, announced in this year’s central budget, highlighting the importance of makhana (Indian fox nut) cultivation in Bihar, where approximately 90% of the national production occurs. The Prime Minister views makhana as a superfood. The Prime Minister’s visit involves several key events. He will arrive at Purnia Airport and inaugurate the terminal building, which was built at a cost of about ₹46 crore. Following this, he will address a large public gathering at the SSB Camp, inaugurating rail projects and local schemes worth approximately ₹6,580 crore and ₹45,000 crore, respectively. Additionally, the Jogbani-Patna Vande Bharat Express train will be flagged off. The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at Purnia Airport at 2:20 PM, followed by the inauguration of the terminal and a public address.
