The Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana in Bihar was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who transferred funds to 75 lakh women. Each woman received Rs 10,000 directly in their bank accounts. The primary goal of the scheme is to encourage self-employment and enhance livelihoods for women across the state. The total financial outlay for this initial phase of the scheme amounts to Rs 7,500 crore. The Bihar government’s scheme focuses on making women self-reliant and supporting their economic independence. It provides financial aid to one woman from each family to start employment or livelihood activities. Beneficiaries will initially receive Rs. 10,000, with the possibility of additional support up to Rs. 2 lakh. These funds can be allocated to various sectors like agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, tailoring, weaving, and other small businesses. Self Help Groups will provide training, and Gramin Haat-Bazaars will be established to assist in selling their products. The program’s launch will be a significant event, spanning multiple administrative levels.
