The Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, a Bihar government initiative, was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The program saw the direct transfer of Rs 10,000 each to 75 lakh women beneficiaries, totaling Rs 7,500 crore. This financial assistance is aimed at fostering self-employment and enhancing livelihoods. The scheme is designed to empower women by providing them with opportunities for economic independence and social advancement. Each beneficiary will receive an initial grant, with the possibility of additional financial support in later phases. The funds can be used for various activities including agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, and small businesses. The initiative also incorporates community support through training provided by Self Help Groups and the development of Gramin Haat-Bazaars to facilitate sales. The launch event was broadcast statewide, engaging women at various administrative levels.
