The flood situation in Odisha has worsened following persistent heavy rainfall, particularly in Balasore and Mayurbhanj. The Subarnarekha River at Rajghat in Balasore has exceeded the danger mark, causing widespread flooding. Bhograi block has seen over 30 villages submerged, leading to significant disruption and damage. The Jalaka river is also close to its danger level. More than 2,900 individuals have been evacuated as floodwaters submerged vast areas of farmland. Mayurbhanj is also heavily affected, with numerous villages flooded and hundreds of homes damaged. In Sundargarh, heavy rain has caused further disruptions. The Brahmani River is also rising, heightening the risk for communities along its banks.
