The Bhagalpur district of Bihar is grappling with a controversy after two Pakistani women were found on the voter list. The women, who reportedly came to India decades ago, were identified during a government verification initiative. Voter ID cards were created for Imrana Khanam and Firdousia Khanam, and they were verified during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Firdousia arrived in India in 1956 on a three-month visa, while Imrana’s visa was for three years. The district administration is taking action, and notices will be served to both women, requesting they present the necessary documents to clarify their status. The inclusion of their names on the voter list raises questions about the verification procedures.
