In a speech at Khagaria, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar targeted Lalu Yadav, criticizing his governance and lack of focus on women’s welfare. Kumar said that when Lalu was out of power, he made his wife, Rabri Devi, the CM. He said their 15 years of rule did nothing for Bihar or women. Nitish Kumar highlighted the improvements made since 2005, contrasting the current environment with the fear and chaos that prevailed earlier. He underscored his government’s initiatives for women’s empowerment, such as the 50% reservation in Panchayati Raj and the support for self-help groups (Jeevika) to create jobs for women. He also emphasized his government’s commitment to all-around development, pointing out that the self-help group model initiated by his government is now being implemented nationwide by the central government.
