In a significant move, the Nitish Kumar-led cabinet in Bihar has sanctioned a comprehensive development plan for Punora Dham in Sitamarhi. The project, costing ₹882.87 crore, mirrors the development model of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple complex. The announcement, made by the Chief Minister on social media, highlighted the inclusion of a grand temple and other infrastructural developments. The government plans to commence the project soon and aims for its speedy completion. This initiative is seen as a crucial step in enhancing the religious and cultural significance of Punora Dham, the revered birthplace of Goddess Sita. The cabinet’s decision reflects the government’s focus on infrastructure and development ahead of the upcoming elections, with this being the second cabinet meeting in a week.
