The Bihar Skill Development Mission has initiated a Mithila painting training center in Patna to provide employment opportunities. The center, located near Pokhar Bhawan, Mainpura, aims to train local youth, particularly women, in the art of Mithila painting. This initiative is designed to promote traditional folk art and create employment opportunities through skill development. The training program will empower individuals, especially women, to master Mithila painting, enabling them to generate income from their skills. The program will support the preservation of cultural heritage and economic empowerment. Free training, necessary materials, and technical assistance will be provided to trainees to help them become self-sufficient. The Department plans to expand the program to include training in other local art forms. This effort will not only promote Bihar’s cultural identity on national and international platforms but also create sustainable employment opportunities for local youth.
