Chief Minister Nitish Kumar handed out appointment letters to the recruits, followed by an oath-taking ceremony. The newly appointed officers vowed to abstain from alcohol throughout their lives and committed to rigorously implementing the state’s prohibition laws. The ceremony was held at Bapu Sabhagar in Patna. The event holds significance amidst the political climate of the upcoming elections in Bihar. Nitish Kumar had previously shared details about the event on his social media platform, X. The recruitment is a part of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve law and order. The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to a strong legal framework. He pointed out that the number of police personnel has been consistently increasing since 2006. The government aims to fill over 229,000 positions by the end of the year, with the goal of curbing crime, increasing police visibility in both rural and urban areas, and enhancing the security of the general public.
