The Bihar government’s focus on self-employment is evident through its initiatives aimed at empowering young people. The Chief Minister Gram Parivahan Yojana is a key program, particularly benefiting those in the state’s rural areas. The Transport Department reports that in the current phase of the scheme, over 3,500 youth from marginalized communities have sought assistance to buy vehicles. The program provides financial aid to eligible individuals, facilitating their entry into self-employment. A significant number of applicants have already acquired vehicles, while support continues to be extended to others. The scheme, launched in 2018, has a target of supporting the purchase of 55,000 vehicles. With a substantial number of vehicles already purchased, the program is actively working to support the remaining beneficiaries.
