A disturbing incident unfolded in Nawada, Bihar, where a minor girl’s simple request for water from her brother-in-law turned into a nightmare. The girl, who was with her friends, approached her brother-in-law, who was present nearby, asking for a drink. It is alleged that the man gave her water laced with alcohol. As the effects of the alcohol took hold, she was taken to a remote location where three of the man’s friends were waiting. The group of four then reportedly committed gang rape. The police took immediate action, initiating raids and arresting one of the accused. The search for the remaining suspects is underway. The incident occurred within the Warisaliganj police station jurisdiction. The victim, a 14-year-old girl from a Mahadalit community, was allegedly gang-raped by several individuals from the same area. The event transpired on Saturday evening near the Sakri River. The girl and her friends were gathering firewood when she experienced thirst and requested water from her brother-in-law. The victim’s mother claims that the brother-in-law and his associates provided her with alcohol instead of water, subsequently taking her to a secluded spot where they allegedly raped her repeatedly. The girl’s friends alerted the family, stating that the girl had vanished after going for water. The family subsequently located the victim and promptly notified the authorities.
