In a frightening incident, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav escaped injury when a truck struck his convoy in Vaishali district on Saturday. The accident occurred near Goraul while Yadav was en route to Patna from Madhepura, where he had attended a political rally. The convoy had halted for a short break on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway at approximately 12:30 AM. While Yadav was away from his vehicle, enjoying tea, a truck slammed into the parked vehicles of his security detail. Thankfully, Yadav’s personal car was not involved, and he remained safe. Three security officials were injured in the collision and quickly transported to a nearby hospital. Yadav later visited the injured individuals and inquired about their health. The injured officials are now reported to be in stable condition, despite suffering injuries including bruises and minor fractures. The local police promptly arrested the truck driver and took the truck into custody. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident, with preliminary reports suggesting potential factors such as speeding or driver fatigue. The incident has brought to light the ongoing concerns about the safety of political figures traveling long distances on Bihar roads, especially during nighttime hours. RJD members and supporters reacted on social media, expressing gratitude for Yadav’s safety and advocating for improved road safety measures and enhanced traffic law enforcement. RJD officials have called for a comprehensive review of VIP security procedures during road travel, especially given the challenging road conditions and visibility issues. Tejashwi Yadav, who maintains a busy political schedule and frequently travels across Bihar, has returned to his regular activities, assuring his followers of his well-being and safety.
