The Election Commission of India (ECI) is optimistic that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar’s electoral roll will be completed by the July 25 deadline. The ECI announced that approximately 47% of Enumeration Forms have been collected within the initial two weeks of the campaign, which began on June 24. According to the ECI, by 6 PM on July 8, 3.70 crore forms had been gathered from a total target of 7.90 crore electors. The election authority has distributed over 97% of the 7.9 crore forms printed and is seeing a steady upload rate to ECINET. To accelerate the process, 20,603 additional Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been deployed, raising the total to 77,895. Moreover, around 4 lakh volunteers, including government employees, NCC cadets, and NSS members, are providing assistance to vulnerable groups. The ECI also noted active participation from District Presidents of all recognized political parties in the appointment of Booth Level Agents (BLAs).
