The Election Commission has dismissed allegations of irregularities in Bihar’s voter list, specifically addressing claims made by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and a retired IAS officer, Vyas Ji. The controversy stems from the draft voter list released as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign. Yadav had shared a post from Vyas Ji alleging that his and his wife’s names were absent from the list. The Election Commission clarified that both individuals’ names were included in the draft voter list published on August 1, 2025. Vyas Ji, in his Facebook post, described his experience attempting to find his name using the online portal. He reported being directed to contact his BLO despite having already completed and submitted the required documentation. He criticized the system and expressed concern for the difficulties faced by less-literate citizens. Simultaneously, the Election Commission refuted Yadav’s assertion that his name was missing, confirming its presence at serial number 416 in the draft voter list. Yadav had previously demonstrated his attempt to locate his name during a press conference, using his EPIC number.
