Father Targeted in Murder Plot After Son’s Disinheritance in Katihar

Katihar police have arrested a son and three contract killers in connection with a murder-for-hire plot targeting the son’s father. The son, Firoz Ansari, had arranged to have his father killed after being disowned by him due to his decision to marry outside of the family’s wishes. The police, acting on a tip-off, apprehended the suspects before the planned assassination could occur. The contract killers were apprehended from the Durga Ghat area of Pranpur police station. The investigation revealed that Ansari offered 10 lakh rupees for the murder. The arrested contract killers, identified as Shubham Kumar, Sajid Ansari, and Azam Ansari, were also found to have signed a written agreement with the son detailing the terms of the murder. The police recovered a pistol, a crude handgun, and ammunition from the suspects. The arrested individuals were laborers in the city. The police are currently looking into the possibility of other individuals being involved in the plot.
