The Forest Department in the Bhagalpur district of Bihar has taken action against the Railways in Navagachia, specifically concerning the death of bird chicks. The department has expressed its concern over the Railways’ handling of the situation. The Railways, as part of a beautification project at the Navagachia railway station, cut down a Pakad tree on platform number 1, which was home to colonies of Little Cormorant and Little Egret birds for many years. Following the tree’s felling, numerous chicks fell to the ground and perished, while many others were left injured. The distressing scene prompted the Forest Department to take action against railway officials.
