A man in Banka, Bihar, murdered his wife with the help of another woman, and buried the body. Following a report, the police team reached the location. The body was unearthed with the help of local villagers and sent for autopsy. The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Savitri Devi.
The event took place in Amjora village, under the Anandpur police station area, where the husband and the second wife killed the first wife after a family dispute on Wednesday. Following the murder, they concealed the body in sand near the river and ran away. The case created a stir in the region. The second wife, Pooja Devi, has been taken into custody by the police. The husband is still at large.
The relatives of the deceased woman have accused the husband of mistreating Savitri Devi ever since the second wife moved into their home. They alleged frequent quarrels and physical violence. They claimed that the husband killed Savitri and buried the body in the sand near the river after a minor dispute.
The deceased woman was dealing with financial problems, due to which she worked as a laborer. She is survived by a 14-year-old son, Brahmadev Das. Upon receiving the news, the relatives rushed to the location, where they mourned. Savitri’s family alleged that the husband ignored Savitri and harassed her after Pooja Devi came into their lives.
Locals gathered after the news of the murder spread. The family of the deceased demanded stern action against the husband and his second wife, claiming that the incident involved not only murder but also long-term harassment. The police have filed a complaint based on the family’s statement and are currently investigating the incident. A search for the absconding suspect is ongoing.
