The inclusion of two Pakistani women in Bihar’s voter list has triggered a significant investigation. The women, who are believed to have entered India decades ago, were identified during a verification drive by the Ministry of Home Affairs. According to the investigation, voter ID cards were issued to Imrana Khanam alias Imrana Khatoon and Firdousia Khanam. The women were also verified during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process before the 2025 assembly elections. The authorities have begun taking action, with notices set to be issued to the women, requiring them to present documentation to support their claims. Firdousia arrived in India on a three-month visa in 1956, while Imrana arrived on a three-year visa. Both women reside in the Bhikanpur Gumti No. 3 Tank Lane area.
