Dayanidhi Bagh, the Joint Director of Soil Conservation and Watershed Development in Bhubaneswar, is under scrutiny by the Odisha Vigilance. The investigation is focused on allegations of possessing assets that are not proportionate to his declared sources of income. This probe is a consequence of the earlier arrest of four officials from the watershed wing in Rayagada, who are accused of embezzling around Rs 20 lakh of public funds meant for farm ponds under the MGNREGS in Kashipur block. Raids are being conducted at multiple locations, including Bagh’s residences in Kalahandi and Bhubaneswar, as well as properties in Nabarangpur. The search warrants were issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna, and the raids involve a team of vigilance officers.
