Lalu Prasad Yadav has been re-elected as the National President of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). According to election officer Ramchandra Purve, Yadav was the sole candidate who had filed a nomination, and it was deemed valid. The official declaration of the election will take place on July 5th during the party’s national council meeting. At the meeting, Yadav will also receive his certificate of election. The ruling NDA in Bihar criticized the RJD, stating that Yadav’s re-election highlights the family’s control over the party. JDU spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad accused Tejashwi Yadav, RJD’s leader’s son, of hypocrisy in discussing ethics. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary criticized the re-election, claiming it shows RJD’s establishment of a monarchy, disregarding other communities.
