Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke his silence on the recent controversy stemming from alleged derogatory remarks made about his late mother during a rally in Bihar. He directed strong criticism toward Rahul Gandhi of the Congress and Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD, holding them accountable for the incident. Modi stated that his mother, who never participated in politics, was subjected to verbal abuse during an Opposition campaign event, an act that he declared was a humiliation to all women.
The Prime Minister made these comments after launching the Bihar Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh Limited, designed to support women entrepreneurs in Bihar. Addressing around 20 lakh women through a video conference, Modi paid tribute to his late mother, Heeraben Modi, describing her tireless efforts to overcome poverty and raise her children. He spoke of her dedication and sacrifices, portraying her as a symbol of strength and resilience. He asserted that the offensive words used at the joint Congress-RJD rally were not just an attack on his mother but on the honor of all women. Modi implied that those from privileged backgrounds, whom he called ‘naamdars,’ could not understand the struggles of the underprivileged.
