A low-pressure area is likely to form over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas, as reported by the IMD. This development is expected to trigger intense rainfall across Odisha, with the wet spell potentially lasting until June 28. A red alert has been issued for Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts for June 25, indicating the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Other districts like Balasore, Kendrapada, Jajpur, and more are also under threat of heavy to very heavy rain and strong winds. The IMD has also warned of rough sea conditions and advised against fishing activities along the Odisha coast due to the impending squally weather.
