The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has alerted residents of 13 Odisha districts about the likelihood of very heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and strong winds. The warning, issued at 10 am, anticipates the adverse weather conditions to impact Angul, Balangir, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Puri, Rayagada, and Sundargarh by 1 pm today. An orange alert is in effect, with the IMD forecasting very heavy rain, light thunder and lightning, and wind speeds that could reach up to 30 kmph in the next three hours across these regions.
