An orange warning has been declared by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and other districts in Odisha, signaling impending severe weather conditions. Residents can expect moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning, coupled with surface winds gusting up to 30-40 kmph, particularly in Cuttack, Kendrapara, Khurda, and Sundargarh. The IMD’s forecast includes heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in Sundargarh, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda. The weather system, originating from Gangetic West Bengal and moving across Jharkhand, is expected to bring heavy rain to the region. The orange warning will continue for the next two days and heavy rain is expected across the state till July 5.
