A focused one-day workshop in Patna marked a new chapter in Bihar’s Aspirational Block Programme (ABP), with firm instructions to revamp block-level development. Drawing from the ADP’s achievements, the Government of India’s programme, started January 7, 2023, seeks to embed strong governance and better life quality in lagging areas.
Hosted on February 23, 2026, by the Planning and Development Department’s Additional Chief Secretary Dr. N. Vijayalakshmi, the event prioritized skill-building in planning, data-informed tracking, and execution upgrades at blocks. It leverages Bihar’s initiatives through convergence, partnership, and competition.
Implemented across 61 blocks in 27 districts, ABP is backed by Rs 280.26 crore under ADP and Rs 20.50 crore incentives for 16 blocks in six districts, highlighting performance rewards.
Key was the ‘Block Saturation Strategy’ for 100% service penetration, focusing on endpoint reach, instant oversight, and unified schemes to cover all.
Planning seniors, district planners, regional advisors, and officials participated. Orders included routine audits, 100% fund use via drives, and certificates by March 15, 2026, ensuring momentum in Bihar’s growth story.
