He described the incident as ‘extremely tragic’ and called on the Odisha government to accelerate relief operations. Gandhi stated that the incident serves as a crucial reminder to reassess security and crowd control measures for large gatherings. He underscored the importance of safeguarding lives, stating that any failures in this regard are unacceptable. Gandhi offered his sympathies to the bereaved families and wished the injured a swift recovery. He further appealed to Congress workers to offer any necessary assistance to those affected.
