Bihar is set to add another milestone to its sporting achievements with the upcoming Asia Rugby Under-20 Sevens Championship 2025. This event, scheduled for August 9th and 10th in Rajgir, will feature top rugby nations from across Asia. The tournament will include eight men’s and eight women’s teams. Participating countries include India, Hong Kong, China, the UAE, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia (men’s team), and Nepal (women’s team). Former rugby player and actor Rahul Bose has praised the event, acknowledging the efforts in promoting sports in Bihar. Teams will begin arriving on August 7th, with an opening ceremony set for August 8th at the Rajgir Sports Complex. This championship is a platform for the top 8 ranked teams from Asia’s 32 rugby-playing nations. This tournament will showcase the best young rugby players. The event also highlights Bihar’s commitment to sports, with rugby being one of the 14 priority sports. The Bihar women’s team recently secured a silver medal in the National Games, and school teams have also achieved success. Bihar players will also be part of the Indian team in this competition.
