Chief Minister Nitish Kumar presided over the foundation laying ceremony for the Salehpur-Rajgir four-lane highway in Rajgir, Nalanda. This event also included the inauguration of a new Road Overbridge (ROB) on National Highway 82. The four-lane highway, spanning from Salehpur (SH-78) to Beloua (Rajgir) via Nursaray-Ahiyapur-Silao on NH-120, is a significant infrastructure project valued at ₹862.63 crore. The highway is designed to enhance connectivity to the Buddhist circuit. During the inauguration, the Chief Minister emphasized that the project would reduce the travel distance from Patna to Rajgir and improve access to key locations, including the International Sports Complex, airport, Nalanda University, and the Rajgir tourism zone. A separate ceremony marked the inauguration of the Rajgir Road Overbridge, built at a cost of ₹81.37 crore, which the Chief Minister noted would greatly improve traffic flow. Alongside, the Chief Minister assessed the preparations for the upcoming Asia Rugby Under 20 Championship at the Rajgir Sports Complex.
