In Patna, the capital of Bihar, preparations for Ravana Dahan were underway in Gandhi Maidan. The rain played a spoilsport, with heavy downpour and dark clouds. The effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnad, all equipped with fireworks, were drenched. The rainwater caused the effigies to deteriorate, causing Ravana’s head to break off before the burning ceremony.
According to information, the heavy rain also lessened the enthusiasm of the people. The rain had a negative impact on the people who came to see the Dusshera fair in Gandhi Maidan. People were seen running around to avoid the rain. Every year, Ravana Dahan is organized at Gandhi Maidan on the occasion of Vijayadashami, but this time the rain dampened the enthusiasm of the people.
