A shocking incident in Vaishali, Bihar, involved the assassination of Shivshankar Singh, the block general secretary of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) party. The murder took place in Pakauri, within the Bidupur police station jurisdiction. Following the shooting, RJD activists and local residents reacted strongly, setting up barricades on the road near Hajipur Bidupur Pakouli using bamboo and starting fires, effectively blocking traffic. Protests erupted with RJD workers and local residents holding a sit-in. The demonstrators expressed their anger and discontent towards the government and local authorities. Singh was reportedly on his way from his old residence in Bairupur to his new home in Pakouli when he was ambushed. Family members confirm that Singh was shot multiple times, resulting in his immediate death. The perpetrators fled the scene after the shooting. Singh was a former employee of the electricity department and was also involved in land transactions. The police have initiated an investigation after securing the body for a post-mortem.
