RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav is currently making headlines. His recent expulsion from the party for six years, ordered by his father, Lalu Yadav, has sparked controversy. Tej Pratap has responded, claiming that he is being targeted and that people are plotting against him because they see him as the successor to his father, Lalu Yadav.
In a recent interview, the elder son of Lalu Yadav also discreetly mentioned that he wishes his brother, Tejashwi Yadav, to become the Chief Minister of Bihar after the upcoming elections. Tej Pratap, however, expressed his desire to play the role of a kingmaker.
Tej Pratap Yadav, who married Aishwarya Rai in 2018, was expelled from the RJD last month. The expulsion followed a post on X where he shared a picture, claiming he was with a woman named Anushka Yadav, with whom he had a 12-year relationship. Although the post was later deleted, and Tej Pratap stated his account was hacked, Lalu Yadav still took action, expelling his son for six years.
When questioned about the reasons for being targeted, Tej Pratap stated, “People target me because they know I am the next Lalu Yadav, possessing the same voice, raw mannerisms, and grounded nature as him.”
When asked if the controversies surrounding him had harmed the RJD’s image, Tej Pratap seemed surprised, questioning why only he was being targeted.
Discussing his expulsion, Tej Pratap admitted to feeling bad and implied that he was being conspired against. He mentioned that his parents, Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi, are like God to him, and he holds them in high regard.
He added, “My mother is always concerned about me. As the elder son, I know I am very close to her heart. I don’t want to go into the details of the circumstances because it is purely political.”
Regarding his relationship with Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap acknowledged some turbulence, but stated he is attempting to manage the situation. “I have no interest in breaking relationships. I always strive to maintain them. As the elder brother, I must fulfill my responsibilities.”
On the prospect of Tejashwi Yadav becoming Chief Minister, Tej Pratap said, “Tejashwi should become the Chief Minister, and he has my full support. I want to be a kingmaker. Some people do not like that I am connected to the ground; I raise issues that are important to the people without fear. This is what my father did, and this is what I, his son, should also do. People in the villages like those who are connected to the ground.”
