Tej Pratap Yadav, the National President of the Jan Shakti Janata Dal and the elder son of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, used the occasion of Vijayadashami to make some pointed comments. He advised his younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav, to understand the significance of roles, drawing parallels between Ram and Lakshman. He further stated that Tejashwi should observe proper conduct and respect his elder brother, while also being mindful of all aspects of the situation. These remarks were made during a press conference in Patna.
During the press conference, Tej Pratap Yadav addressed multiple issues. He stated that Tejashwi is acting based on his own understanding. He also suggested that Tejashwi might be influenced by certain individuals. He emphasized the importance of independent thinking and recognizing the roles of Ram and Lakshman, while also respecting the elder brother.
This discussion came after a query regarding Tejashwi’s allegations that Tej Pratap had previously fielded candidates against the party’s interests, especially during the Lok Sabha elections. Tej Pratap offered his response.
Additionally, he criticized the RSS, noting its lack of contribution to India’s independence. He alluded to the events surrounding Mahatma Gandhi and reiterated his commitment to Gandhian principles and the legacy of leaders like Lal Bahadur Shastri. When questioned about his electoral plans, he said he would announce them after Dussehra. Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s foreign travels, Tej Pratap suggested that Rahul might be traveling for his benefit.
Tej Pratap Yadav also spoke on the ‘I Love Mohammad’ controversy, advocating for respect towards all religions. He declared his respect for all faiths and mentioned his possession of the Quran. He believes in both Ram and Mohammad, promoting inclusivity. He expressed his respect for Prophet Muhammad and questioned the current state of society and its leadership. He highlighted the arrest of those expressing ‘I Love Mohammad’ and analyzed the present mindset. He concluded by expressing his determination to advance and connect with the public, irrespective of any opposition.
