During a TV9 Digital Bihar event, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav vehemently condemned Swami Rambhadracharya’s declaration that the Manusmriti is India’s first constitution. Yadav termed the statement as an act of treason. He raised concerns about the treatment of women, Dalits, and other marginalized groups within the Manusmriti, encouraging public scrutiny of the text. Yadav further questioned the historical accuracy, pointing out the existence of the constitution created by Babasaheb Ambedkar. He emphasized that anyone who supports the Manusmriti as the first constitution is essentially opposing the constitution and is, therefore, committing treason. Yadav also addressed the SIR issue in Bihar, dismissing it as a non-issue. He claimed it was an attempt to strip the poor of their votes and rights and highlighted the Supreme Court’s favorable ruling, making Aadhaar a mandatory document.
