Threats and Broken Promises: Bride’s Friend Halts Wedding in Bhagalpur

A wedding in Bhagalpur, Bihar, has been called off due to threats made by the bride’s friend. The friend threatened the groom via social media, leading him to return the wedding advance. The incident took place in Jichho village under the Lodipur police station. The friend, who had studied with the bride, sent a threatening message along with a photograph of himself and the bride. The groom, intimidated by the threats, declined to proceed with the wedding and returned the advance payment of one lakh rupees. The bride’s mother has been running from pillar to post, seeking justice and action against the friend, who is a resident of Navgachia. The mother stated her daughter’s friend had sent a photo with the daughter and was blackmailing the family.
